The Value of hiring a Doula

You’re not the kind of person who seeks “cheap” when it comes your self care and your experiences.

But your birth partner asks, “why should we pay for a doula? You’ve got me!”

It’s completely normal. they are a provider. They are your protector. They need to see value when they spend money. And let’s face it, good doulas don’t come cheap. So why is hiring a doula worth the fee?

People who hire doulas value experiences over things. Doulas enhance and empower. You’re still gonna have a baby, but when you hire a doula you add in layers of support, reassurance and confidence that as many things as possible (if not all) are going to go right as you bring your baby into the world.

Doulas are a bit like an insurance policy. You don’t know how your birth will go (no one does, not even your doula!) but you know that someone has your back every step of the way "just in case" things don’t go so well.

Many doulas share research on how their very presence improve birth outcomes (eg reduced interventions like cesareans and epidurals) and while this is true, that’s not why you should invest in a doula. Well, that’s not why you should invest in ME as your doula.

You should invest in ME as your doula because I will draw on my knowledge, skills, training and experience to provide you with exceptional support to make informed decisions about your pregnancy, your birth and your baby.

Birth IS unpredictable and as your doula, I make absolutely no guarantees about outcomes. What I DO guarantee is that I will work closely with you to build a deep relationship based on trust, connection and strong communication as I walk by your side on your parenting journey.

As your doula I learn or help you develop the family values that resonate the most for you and your birth partner, then uphold these as we navigate your baby’s entry into the world.

Am I worth it? Absolutely!!
